Proton hosts Beauty pageant delegates and Orphans

Delegates of the 21st Miss Tourism International (MTI) pageant visited the PROTON Centre of Excellence (COE) in Subang Jaya recently for a test track experience of the Proton X70, the first SUV from PROTON. Following their session, the 45 delegates joined senior management members of PROTON to host 25 children from Sweet Care orphanage to lunch while also handing out gifts.

MTI delegates among the first to experience new Proton X70
Just two days after its official debut, the Proton X70 was once again in the limelight as PROTON’s first SUV ferried 45 MTI pageant delegates to PROTON’s test track before delivering to them a thrilling experience. The delegates were taken for laps around the banked test track as well as given a demonstration on how the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) helped to increase the level of safety for drivers.

Aside from its dynamic abilities, the connectivity functions of the Proton X70 were also demonstrated. Delegates were shown how the voice command system allows drivers to access multiple functions without taking their hands off the wheel and their eyes off the road, adding an extra level of safety and convenience to the SUV.

“PROTON is proud to be the official vehicle of the 2018 Miss Tourism International pageant. The event presents the Company with an opportunity to help promote tourism and the culture of Malaysia, which is apt as the Proton X70 is the first premium SUV from a Malaysian automotive brand. Its attractive styling, intelligent technology features and luxurious interior can be summed up in our tagline Intelligence That Inspires, which are qualities embodied by all the participants of the pageant,” said Dato’ Abdul Rashid Musa, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON Edar.

Children from Sweet Care orphanage hosted at COE
As the end of the year approaches, PROTON embraced the spirit of giving by hosting 25 children from Sweet Care orphanage to lunch at the COE. Aside from a sumptuous meal the children were also presented with gifts, given taxi rides at the test track in the Proton X70 and managed to spend time with the MTI delegates, an experience that will hopefully leave them with happy memories to cherish.

“At PROTON, we prioritise our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) role because we believe in giving back as much as possible to less fortunate Malaysians. By hosting the children from Sweet Care orphanage we hope to deliver a memorable experience for these special young Malaysians while brightening their lives during this season of giving,” added Dato’ Abdul Rashid Musa.
